Welcome back for another month of Quilt Block Mania. This month, the design challenge was flowers and we are using a rich and delicious red and greed color combination. I am so happy to share with you my Wildflowers quilt block. Get all of the details about the Wildflower quilt block as well as all of the other designer blocks below. I hope you enjoy this month’s blocks!
What is the Quilt Block Mania Blog Hop?
Each month, a group of designers get together and create blocks around a specific theme and color palette. We then share the block patterns with you for FREE. It’s a great way to meet new designers, try different quilting techniques and have some fun along the way.
Flowers, Flowers, Flowers
The theme for March is flowers and this theme is so appropriate for this time of year. I don’t know about you, but this girl is ready for some flowers to start blooming. I’ve had just about enough of the winter weather. Working on this block got me so excited for the change of season. Not only are we working with flowers but we’ve got a fun complimentary color combination to work with. I love the classis red and green combo. Dark greens pair so nicely with various shades of red. Don’t you agree? You can find this color palette and more at Design Seeds. It’s a great resource for color inspiration.
Wildflowers Quilt Block
I always love the look of daisy like flowers. They just look so happy and cheery. How can you not have a smile on your face when you see a daisy. The Wildflower quilt block brings the reds and pinks of the color palette to life. Here’s the illustration of the block I designed and the sample that I made. I still need to do the applique stitching but didn’t want to delay sharing this with you until that was done.
