Join Rebecca for this trunk show where she reveals tips and tricks that you can use to create secondary designs in your quilt projects. Leave inspired to make your own magic with secondary designs.

Color Theory for Quilters

Choosing fabric color combinations is a skill every quilter can master. Join Rebecca as she share the basics of color theory in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. Along the way, you’ll learn how to create a color wheel, how color interacts with one another, and classic color combinations. The importance of value and color balance are also explored. Simple Design Changes That Make A Big Impact Lecture

Half-Day and Full-Day Workshops

Pick A Pattern (half-day or full-day)

Choose any quilt pattern by Studio R Quilts and enjoy a day or quilting with Rebecca. Students will learn techniques, tips, and tricks to help piecing and assembling the quilt project. This is a custom workshop developed specifically to meet the needs of your quilt guild members. Rebecca can make recommendations to find the perfect pattern for your needs. Students are each required to purchase a copy of the quilt pattern

Stars Table Runner (half-day)

Star blocks are popular in quilts and are often constructed with basic block units. In this class, we will focus on star blocks that are made with half-square triangles, quarter-square triangles, and flying geese. These basic block units can be used to make a wide variety of different star blocks. In class, we’ll make the Ribbon Star, Ohio Star, and Sawtooth Star blocks which can then be joined into a 12” x 48” table runner. Have fun while building your confidence with star blocks.

3 Methods To Make Half-Square Triangles (half-day)

The half-square triangle is a versatile quilt block that every quilter should master. In this hands-on class, we will make half-square triangles using 3 different methods (2 at-a-time, 4-at-a-time, and 8-at-a-time). Along the way, you’ll issues, and learn the math to customize half-square triangles to any size. We will finish the class experimenting with different layouts using half-square triangles where you can build a custom table runner or wall hanging.

3 Methods To Make Flying Geese (half-day)

Flying Geese blocks are commonly used in quilting and a block you shouldn’t fear making. In this hands-on class, we will make flying geese using 3 different methods (traditional, stitch and flip, and 4-at-a-time). Along the way, you’ll understand the pros and cons of each method, troubleshoot common piecing issues, and the learn the
math to customize flying geese to any size. We will finish the class experimenting with different layouts using flying geese blocks and learn how to join blocks without chopping off your triangle points.

Alternatives to Binding (half-day)

Looking for new alternatives for finishing your quilts? Learn 3 new methods for finishing a quilt, including facing, knife edge finish, and prairie points. Learn how to prepare materials for these finished edges and how to stitch them together. Along the way, you’ll discover helpful tips and tricks that will help you finish your next quilt using an alternative method to traditional quilt binding

Custom Designed Workshop (half-day or full-day)

Looking for something more specific for your quilt guild. Work with Rebecca to develop a custom workshop on topics of interest to the quilt guild. Custom workshops can be designed for either a half-day or full-day agenda Contact Rebecca to discuss what options are available
