Join Rebecca for this trunk show lecture where she pulls back the curtain on the tips and tricks she uses to create stunning secondary designs — using blocks you may already know and love.

Have you ever looked at a quilt and thought it must be incredibly complicated — only to find out it’s made from a single simple block? That’s the magic of secondary designs, and once you see how they work, you’ll start seeing design possibilities everywhere.
In this trunk show lecture, Rebecca shares quilts from her own collection to illustrate how secondary designs come to life. You’ll see real examples of how simple construction choices create complex, eye-catching results.
In this lecture, you’ll explore:
- The power of block rotation — how a single block, turned and repeated, can create entirely new designs
- How seemingly simple or asymmetrical blocks can produce the most impressive quilts
- Creating secondary designs with multiple blocks — what to look for including block grid, directional movement, and shared design elements
- Using color intentionally to connect blocks and make secondary designs seamless
- Small design additions that add visual interest and polish — including borders, sashing, cornerstones, and setting

Not sure how to make flying geese blocks? Frustrated that they never come out the right size? You’re not alone — and there’s a better way. The flying geese block is one of quilting’s most essential and versatile blocks, and this workshop will give you the skills and confidence to make them beautifully, every time.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Construct flying geese blocks using three different methods
- Stitch and Flip Method
- Traditional Method
- 4-At-A-Time Method
- Weigh the pros and cons of each method so you can choose the right one for any project
- Trim your blocks for a perfect finish, every time

Are you frustrated with a quarter-inch seam allowance that never seems quite right? Learn how to set, test, and dial in your perfect seam allowance so your blocks come together accurately every time. You’ll leave this lecture with actionable steps, practical tips, and a free downloadable guide to keep refining your accuracy at home.
Class Details:
If your blocks never quite line up the way they should, your seam allowance might be the culprit — and it’s probably not what you think. A precise quarter-inch seam is about much more than a presser foot, and this lecture will walk you through every factor that affects your accuracy so you can finally get it right.
In this lecture, you’ll learn about:
- Quarter-inch presser feet — the different styles available and the pros and cons of each
- Thread — weight, wind type, and how spool pin position affects your stitch
- Needles — how they’re sized and how to match needle to thread for best results
- Throat plates — how a single-needle plate can prevent fabric from shifting at the needle opening
- Pins — why different styles behave differently in fabric and how that affects your seam
- Machine settings — stitch length, tension, and how to optimize your machine for quilting
You’ll also learn about the scant quarter-inch seam allowance — what it means, why it matters, and why finding your perfect seam allowance is more effective than chasing a universal standard. You’ll walk away knowing exactly how to test your current seam allowance, check for accuracy, and make the small adjustments that add up to a big difference in your finished quilts.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of wrapping up in a quilt you made with your own hands. If you’ve been wanting to learn to quilt but weren’t sure where to start, this class is exactly what you’ve been looking for. In six fun, supportive sessions, you’ll learn the entire quilt-making process from start to finish — no experience necessary.
This is a small-group class, which means you’ll get individual attention and plenty of time to ask questions. Each week you’ll receive a digital reference guide covering what we covered in class, so by the end of the six weeks you’ll have a complete personal reference you can turn to for any quilt project going forward.
What You’ll Learn — Week by Week
Foundation (Weeks 1–2)
- Week 1: Quilting 101, essential tools, color theory basics, and fabric selection
- Week 2: Cutting fabric accurately and getting set up to sew
Construction (Weeks 3–4)
- Week 3: Piecing 4-patch blocks and joining your center block section
- Week 4: Adding borders
Finishing (Weeks 5–6)
- Week 5: Basting and quilting
- Week 6: Making and attaching binding
